What a root canal is (plain English)
The goal is to clean and seal the inside of the tooth so you can often keep your natural tooth. It’s a treatment path — not a punishment — and it’s one option among others depending on the tooth’s condition.
How we decide
Exam plus imaging help us see if the tooth can predictably be saved. Sometimes a root canal is recommended; sometimes extraction is clearer; sometimes we stage care. You’ll hear the reasoning before you choose.
Comfort and aftercare
We numb the area for treatment and explain what to expect afterward. Mild tenderness can happen as tissues settle; we’ll give aftercare notes and invite weekday follow-up questions.
After the root canal
Many teeth need a protective crown later. If ongoing cosmetic rebuilding is part of your longer plan, Dental Enhanced (same suite) can be the home for that chapter.

When to seek medical ER care first
If you have trouble breathing or swallowing, rapidly spreading facial swelling, or a serious medical emergency, seek emergency medical care right away, then follow up with dental care as advised.
